Career Interest: Business Administration in the tech industry.

Hey there, my name is Tia Monterroso and I'm an independent woman who is a full-time senior at Borough of Manhattan Community College and my major is Business Administration. I feel like in this current path I'm in, I'm destined for greatness. I enjoy watching travel channels, documentaries, and podcasts. I also enjoy reading blogs/articles and going to the gym! I love learning new information, news about whats going on around the world, and seeing new places. My favorite colors are purple and gold. Series I am currently watching is YOU, The Last of Us, and Your Honor. My specialties are in the kitchen because I can make a hell-of-a-dish out of anything. My favorite food is Chinese, Hispanic, and southern cuisines.Although I live in New York City, I did live in Georgia for a couple years when I was younger because my mom wanted out of the city. I've traveled to Puerto Rico for the first time 2 years ago, I felt like I was seeing my real home and never wanted to leave. I have two cats whom I adore and a pet fish. When I have the time to watch movies I prefer thrillers, sci-fi, and zombie movies the most (good ones of course). My favorite movie is Interview with the Vampire. One of my ticks is when people only think and see from their point of view without being open-minded. I am a goof ball at heart and love to laugh because it's good for the soul.

What was the impact of your project?
I believe the impact of my project is huge and beneficial. Allowing our users to track their progress and have goals in a way that is easily accessible and easy to navigate will be a major feature to keep our users more engaged and motivated. While also keeping an eye out for the design aspect. With this project I would hope to bring the tools and support in helping our users reach financial wellness into a debt free life and their goals.
What did you learn or improve on from this internship or from your teammates?
What skills have you gained?
New skills I`ve acquired So far, It`s being able to put myself in the users shoes and identify bugs and issues that may cause functionality problems for users, and drive users away. Other skills and things I`ve learned is how to critique and provide feedback to solve problems or issues that may arise. I`m looking forward to learning a lot more.
What was the biggest roadblock you've overcome?
My biggest roadblock I`ve overcame so far is being able to manage my time as a full-time student while juggling my busy schedule as a parent. I overcame this obstacle by learning time management skills and realizing that when you put your thoughts into something you want to achieve, it is possible.
