Saksham Sharma

College: John Jay College of Criminal Justice

Education Level: Junior

Career Interest: Software Developer/Data Analyst

I am Saksham Sharma majoring in Computer Science & Information Security, at John Jay College. I am incredibly excited to join the internship program at Unadat. I am originally from India, and now I've moved to the states for my further education, and future endeavors. I love to travel the world, and the best place I've ever been to is Prague in Europe. My interests include musical instruments, and swimming. I'm a musician, I play western and electric drums & acoustics especially. I enjoy making things from nothing. I am not a native of the United States and have been here for over 3 years now. I grew up in India where I attended school. After high school, I moved to New York, where I went to college at John Jay College of Criminal Justice at the City University of New York. During college, it was not easy for me to make friends because I was shy and quiet. It wasn’t until after college when I started working at a high school as a math tutor, that my relationships with others changed for the better. At work, I was able to open up more as well as learn how to communicate better with others by using body language and tone of voice rather than words alone.

What was your role?

CS (SWE)

What did you work on?

What was the impact of your project?
The impact of the project is to simplify solutions for those people who want to honestly loose debt, and live the best life without any headache. I would love my project to make sense in that matter where people can say that the tool I worked on is really helping people in real life. I wish to change the world of financial technology through my new skills.
What did you learn or improve on from this internship or from your teammates?
What skills have you gained?
I think the new skills are just to maintain schedule, and prioritize work assignments, and not to submit work by the end of the deadline.
What was the biggest roadblock you've overcome?
I don`t think there are any roadblocks yet, because we are still transitioning into a full work schedule.
How has company culture guided your work?
What was your experience at Unadat?
What was one big project you worked on during the internship? Can you walk me through the process?
What advice would you give to future interns?
I think there should be some in person events, so I can meet the super cool team of unadat.
