College: City College of New York
Education Level: Freshman
Career Interest: Biomedical engineering
I'm Yumna Ahmed and I'm a freshman at CCNY majoring in biomedical engineering. I graduated from Staten Island Tech (very stem oriented) in 2022. When I was younger, I spent my summers in India and experienced lots of diversity, but also disparity. This pushed me to how I can help underprivileged communities in mass amounts. Growing up, lots of my family members suffered with cancer, which pushed me towards medicine. Thus, I combined my desire to help people in mass amounts with my curiosity in medicine into a major in biomedical engineering. I hope to travel to more third world countries and put out my best efforts in what I can do to improve healthcare in these communities. I really love learning, specifically reading up on lab reports on the most modern technologies in medicine. Outside of the lab and classroom, I love working out in nature!
