College: Brooklyn College

Education Level: Bachelor of Science

Career Interest: Fullstack developer

I'm a regular boy who studied at Brooklyn College and majored in Computer Science with a small interest in sneakers and gaming. I've been in contact with technologies at a very young age and by then it had built up my passion for taking a deep dive into this field and hoping that one day I can also build something that can affect and help millions of people.

What was your role?

CUNY CapStone

What did you work on?

What was the impact of your project?
Our project tries to provide a feature that not only enhances the experience of the user but at the same time, provides a more comprehensible understanding to the user about their spendings and the consequences of their financial decisions. Such information can help the user to better manage their financial decision and with the goals of paying of their debts.
What did you learn or improve on from this internship or from your teammates?
One thing that I learned from my teammate is the way to communicate effectively and positively. With that, our collaborative work was always efficient. I also learned the importance of team because my teammate is always there to support me and I would also do whatever I can to support them.
What skills have you gained?
Before this internship, I had very little knowledge on the languages and tools that we use in this internship. During the internship, it strengthened my knowledge of those languages and provided me a new sight on how to utilize them in different circumstances.
What was the biggest roadblock you've overcome?
One of the biggest roadblock is to work collaboratively in a team as I have only very little experience on it. By the influence of the culture and team, during the internship, I realize that I`m getting better and better while working in a team and the way that I communicate with my teammates and how to work collaboratively is getting better and better. I started to understand the importance of a team and the support and motivations that they can provide you, which is completely different when working independently.
How has company culture guided your work?
It had supported me to work in a way that I tried my best to produce an output that is beneficial to the community of Unadat. Motivations is also a key that I obtain regularly while working in the team with our culture.
What was your experience at Unadat?
What was one big project you worked on during the internship? Can you walk me through the process?
The main project that I worked on during the internship focuses on user-determined goals related to their debts, such as paying off a mortgage or paying off 50% of their credit card debt within 12 months. With the specific goal the user has set, the feature we wanted to introduce is that the user can assess the financial results of assigning the extra monthly payment in a particular way, and communicate to the user what the optimal choice is based on their most high-value metrics. This not only enhances the experience of the user but at the same time, provides a more comprehensible understanding to the user about their spendings and the consequences of their financial decisions.
What advice would you give to future interns?
One of the main pieces of advice that I wanted to provide to the next team of interns is to never be afraid to speak with either your teammates or your supervisors. After joining this internship, you are in a big team where each of us can provide support to you, whether it is technical issues that you have or other things that`s outside of this internship.
