My name is Daisy. I'm currently studying engineering science at CUNY BMCC. I'm a very curious person, who always wants to learn something new and develop new skills and knowledge. I wanted to gain more experience which was more relevant to my career, so an internship was the best option for me.

What was your role?

I was working on designing wellness score for the unadat website.

What did you work on?

What was the impact of your project?

I hope that the wellness score will help users manage their finances better than before and will create a better impact on their life.

What did you learn or improve on from this internship or from your teammates?

I got to learn about some of the tools used by UX/UI designers from my teammate. After completing a design, I used to show it to my teammate and get a suggestion from them and how I can improve my work.

What skills have you gained?

I earned new UX/UI designing skills. before joining unadat, I didn`t know what UX/UI was, so it was a brand-new thing for me. However, once I was assigned in this position, I did some research and got to learn about UX/UI design.

What was the biggest roadblock you've overcome?

I didn`t have enough confidence in myself that I will be able to work in a tech company. But after this internship, I believe I would be able to work in any company, especially in their tech department.

How has company culture guided your work?

The company culture guided my work by the work requirements like Monday we come as a team and decide what we will work on and Tuesday we work independently on our part, Wednesday we prepared for the presentation of much work we have done, Thursday we finally presented that, so if we were stuck on something we can put it as a roadblock, and one of the teammates will reach out to us and help us through it.

What was your experience at Unadat?

I had a great experience working at Unadat. I had great team members who were always be there to help me and my bosses were very friendly and thoughtful. some weeks the work is a little tough for me to handle but with the assistance of my teammates, I was able to finish that on time.

What was one big project you worked on during the internship? Can you walk me through the process?

Since I worked on the Wellness score, the first thing we did was we did the research about the Wellness score and then we went to design it and created a suggestion and goals list for the users.

What advice would you give to future interns?

The best advice I can give to the next crop of intern is that if they keep healthy working conditions, they would be able to go through any kind of workload and teamwork is the key.
