What was your role?

Part of the Business Development team. I also got the chance to meet with Surround Insurance to present my work along with Sean spearheading the meeting.

What did you work on?

Creating mockup pages for company partner; Surround Insurance including IGS page, partners store page, add to goal pop up, and alumni page.

What was the impact of your project?
What did you learn or improve on from this internship or from your teammates?
Communication is key when working in a fast-paced environment. At certain times, communication is crucial when a project isnt going the way its supposed to. When you ghost everybody or give little to no communication, that creates a huge headache for everybody involved in the project. Along with communication comes clarification. Certain aspects of a project throughout these sprints werent necessarily clarified enough or at all. Once again, thats where communication comes in.
What skills have you gained?
One of the skills Sean primarily pointed out was attention to detail. In his words, he says I knew how to pick his brain a lot, which is a good thing. This is because the big factor to how a project can drastically change is from the small things.
What was the biggest roadblock you've overcome?
Partner Stores Page. We (BizDev) were responsible with coming up with an agreed uniformed format of the partner store page for our company partners. The project was supposed to start on Monday, but didnt start until Wednesday due to lack of communication (Roadblock). I found this out because ironically I went into office hours with Sean to talk about last weeks project. So, I had to take one for the team and gathered the team to discuss the project. Thankfully, with the collaborative communication, we completed all the work and had an agreed uniformed format for the partners store page before the big Friday meeting. Of course, the communication shouldve been way better. But truthfully, if it wasnt for my team being so cooperative and communicative, this project wouldnt of have been done on time.
How has company culture guided your work?
There are deadlines and certain standards that need to be met.
What was your experience at Unadat?
What was one big project you worked on during the internship? Can you walk me through the process?
What advice would you give to future interns?
Like Sean said, overcommunicate. Learn from me.
