My name is Tahsin, and I am a student at Hunter College, pursuing a degree in Computer Science. My skills include experience with C++, proficiency in Python, and JavaScript. I have experience with database management and web development.

What was your role?

I worked on the landing page my first 2 weeks, making some of the page and working on the secondary navigation bar for the page. Then I worked on the milestone page. I worked on the backend of getting the page set up. I worked with the productive development team to merge all the new features for the milestone page together. I worked on a data layout for the milestones and dependencies array. I worked on getting the "Add Milestone" button to work, specifically focusing on the popup for adding a milestone and appending the added milestone to the milestone list.

What was the impact of your project?

What did you learn or improve on from this internship or from your teammates?

I learned many technical skills from my teammates, like using Git properly and connecting the backend and frontend. And also seeing their working style really helped me understand different approaches to problem-solving. I also learned about working effectively as a team.

What skills have you gained?

During my Unadat internship, I picked up several valuable skills. Technically, I learned to use jQuery and PHP, and overall I learned about how to build and manage a dynamic website. Additionally, I honed my communication skills, learning how to effectively collaborate and share ideas with my team.

What was the biggest roadblock you've overcome?

The biggest roadblock I overcame was managing my time effectively. With a lot of responsibilities at once, I found it important to develop a structured schedule. I started planning out my tasks for the day in advance, allocating specific times for each task.

How has company culture guided your work?

Company culture has guided my work by showing the importance of communication and how it can help get tasks done quickly. It also demonstrated to me how you need a mix of both teamwork and independent work to do effective work.

What was your experience at Unadat?

What was one big project you worked on during the internship? Can you walk me through the process?

What advice would you give to future interns?

I would say to start your work early and meet again a day or two after the main meeting to break down your tasks with your sub-team. You will run into issues that you might not be able to solve in time if you don’t start early.
