What was your role?

In Unadat I was on Team Barbie and I worked on the Video Task force as a designer. Our video served as a marketing tool that would entice users to utilize Unadat`s services. My role as designer required me to film, storyboard, animate, and edit the final product.

What did you work on?

What was the impact of your project?
What did you learn or improve on from this internship or from your teammates?
My amazing team taught me the importance of collaboration, communication, and problem-solving. Additionally, getting their diverse perspectives and approaches has broadened my understanding and it really enriched my learning experience.
What skills have you gained?
While working at Unadat, I gained many skills that have greatly benefited me as an artist and designer. My work ethic has improved drastically; I used to have people-pleasing tendencies, but being at Unadat taught me the importance of speaking my mind and taking risks without fear of judgment. Additionally, I enhanced my planning and execution abilities. Previously, I struggled with project planning and execution, but using Asana helped me learn how to plan ahead for even the smallest tasks. This ensured that I could stick to the plan and complete my duties on time.
What was the biggest roadblock you've overcome?
The biggest roadblock was narrowing down ideas with consideration of restraints. Although my team was very creative, we had to narrow down our many ideas into something was was executable within the constraints of our time and resources. We were a small team with diverse interests, but we were able to overcome these restraints with effective communication, tons of meetings, and lots of planning on Asana.
How has company culture guided your work?
The company culture has had a big impact on how I approach my design work. It has empowered me to take creative risks and be courageous in exploring innovative solutions. I`ve learned to embrace asking all kinds of questions, even if they seem silly, to make sure I`m really getting what`s needed. Plus, I`ve fully adopted the mindset that taking risk and quick action is necessary when tackling any project.
What was your experience at Unadat?
What was one big project you worked on during the internship? Can you walk me through the process?
What advice would you give to future interns?
While at times you may get the urge to silence yourself in fear of going against the grain, always remember that being disagreeable will lead to great inventions. If we all agreed on everything, there would be no growth in our society. My advice is to be to a nice monster!
