What did you learn or improve on from this internship or from your teammates?

I started off never really having used design tools and having no formal experience in design; throughout the internship I learned plenty of tips both in figma and just design in general. I learned that in design there is a lot of borrowing from different sites or apps not unlike cs, but it`s important to make sure that the pieces you borrow fit together and look good as a cohesive unit.

What skills have you gained?

I learned about new concepts in design and user experience including how to wireframe an app, how to draw inspiration from different websites and how to weave them all together. On the more technical side I had the chance to learn figma, Asana and the scrum system.

What was the biggest roadblock you've overcome?

It took me a few weeks to grasp the workflow of Figma since I had no prior design experience. Initially, I struggled to find settings and would have preferred using CSS. However, with time and the assistance of my teammates, I became more at ease with Figma and could now use it to brainstorm much faster than I can in code.

How has company culture guided your work?

The culture was fast paced with a new task every week. It allowed for constant feedback and always left us with something to improve on for the next week.
