Career Interest: Risk manager, Trading Strategist

I have loved mathematics and programming since High school, and I'm trying to teach myself Python. Also, I'm passionate about music and fashion. I hate getting sweaty and hot weather. In my free time, I mostly listen to music, have long walks, and buy interesting clothes at vintage and thrift stores. Since I like music, I'm learning how to play the piano. I was trying to learn how to play the drums, but I'm not too coordinated. After finishing my bachelor's degree, I want to do a master's degree in Financial Engineering and hopefully land a job after that.

What was your role?

I try to improve or update the design of the website, as well the creation of tutorials and improvement of the company's deck. I worked on the different projects that the team had throughout the internship. My role was to contribute with ideas and designs. We first started with knowing the website and learning the different tools that the website has. Then, my team and I started to search for bugs and things that could change its design. The different tasks started, like making a tutorial and redesigning the company's deck.

What did you work on?

Update of buttons, creation of a tutorial for the website, and the upgrade of the company's deck.

What was the impact of your project?
My current project, the company deck targeting employers, will help the company to gain the attention of employers from different kinds of companies that want their employees to improve their debt issue, so they will be less stressed and improve their productivity. This will lead to an increase in clients and users.
What did you learn or improve on from this internship or from your teammates?
I learned so many new skills and gained a lot of knowledge about design. Since my major is math, I had zero idea about anything related to design. I learned different methods to improve the design of a website and be more creative in general. Also, different stuff about companies, like decks and how a start-up works. In addition, I learned how to be part of a team in a company environment. From my teammates, I learn a lot of things about design and, most importantly, teamwork. They helped me a lot throughout this internship, teaching and helping me when I did not understand something.
What skills have you gained?

What was the biggest roadblock you've overcome?
The biggest roadblock that I overcame throughout this internship was my null knowledge about any type of design. It was hard at the beginning because I didn't understand some of the tasks. But thanks to the help of my peers and my manager, I learned and overcame that roadblock.
How has company culture guided your work?
I think that the company culture guides my work to be original, creative, and efficient. The team-oriented environment was also really helpful.
What was your experience at Unadat?
What was one big project you worked on during the internship? Can you walk me through the process?
The biggest project in which I worked during the internship was redoing the company's deck targeting employers. In the beginning, I did not know what a deck was. It wasn't easy, but with the guidance and feedback of my manager and investigating online, little by little, the project was improving.
What advice would you give to future interns?
My advice would be to start the internship with an open mind and with a willingness to learn new skills. Also, after they are assigned, investigate and learn a little bit about the job they will be doing in the company.
