What was your role?

Analyzed overall functionality of Unadat Website on mobile and desktop devices and determined what features are working and how to improve functionality of other features, as necessary. Created drafts of new looks and features for the potential goal store and hybrid landing page for the website.

What did you learn or improve on from this internship or from your teammates?

I learned that it always better to work with my team. Every task I was assigned was only completed as a result of my teammates and I putting in collective effort to get all the work done. No matter how many or few people were in my team for the week, it always felt like the perfect amount because we stuck to our roles and were able to come up with a cohesive and completed piece for our task.

What skills have you gained?

I picked up a stronger understanding of design and technical skills. During my Unadat internship, I learned about how to navigate some SQL code, inspect a website so that it`s adjusted to what I want to see as a user, and I got to strengthen my Canva skills by creating sample landing pages and even enhance my powerpoint creativity from making powerpoints for weekly task presentations.

What was the biggest roadblock you've overcome?

The biggest roadblock I overcame was navigating the more technical aspects of my tasks. For example, when I didn`t know how to effectively inspect and adjust the goal store page I was working on, I did some research and reminded myself of the presentation Sean gave so that I could complete my work to the best of my abilities. My own independent research and help from my team definitely allowed me to overcome my roadblock.

How has company culture guided your work?

The company culture taught me the importance of collaboration as I worked in teams for every weekly task. The collaborative nature of the company meant that even when I worked independently, I was never really alone as I always had my team or Sean and Daniel to ask for guidance. I felt that my work was stronger because I had a great support system.

What advice would you give to future interns?

My advice is to make the most out of your experience by taking the time to get to know your teammates and doing every task to the best of your abilities as all the work is meaningful and can enhance so many of your skills.
