What was your role?

As a beta tester at Unadat during the period of my 5 week internship week 1 I got familar with the site and worked on reporting bugs into a document so the CS team could tackle them. Weeks 2-4 I worked on researching foundational principles of a error code system with my three teammates Ahnaf, Jonathan and Rahim so we could introduce one to Unadat. We presented our idea to Dan the CTO and we got the green light to continue. We compiled a spreadsheet to store all our error code system information and used spread sheet functions and tools to make the internal experience of our documentation easier to use. Week 5 I worked with the other beta testers Vivian and shazia, and the UI UX members Stanley and Ragib by contributing my own opinions and ideas to create a prototype landing page for Unadat to present.

What did you work on?

What was the impact of your project?
What did you learn or improve on from this internship or from your teammates?
All of my teammates have been friendly respectable and ethical. With my fellow beta testers I got to learn about different perspectives as well as good principles to promote healthy/ethical collobration since we worked on the same tasks together. Also along with everyone else I got to ask questions about the fields theyre in and get some valuable personal insight.
What skills have you gained?
Great new skills that I`ve picked up at Unadat were collaboration and presentation skills. Throughout my college career so far I`ve not had many opportunities to develop these skills as I was mostly tasked with individual work, or rather I`ve always had the option for individual work. It was great and easy to get out of my comfort zone when working at Unadat because of principles such as dont be afraid to fail that were made clear on Day 1 of this internship. I learned alot about how to communicate better and how to collaborate with others effectively.
What was the biggest roadblock you've overcome?
Biggest roadblock to overcome during this internship is to make sure I keep showing up so I can improve. It is easy to stay in your comfort zone and ignore the consequences. I overcame this by making it clear to myself everyday on what am I looking to gain from this internship, the value in developing these skills, and what I should do each day at work.
How has company culture guided your work?
Regarding the company culture I like the emphasis on being unstrict with appearances as well as being open to questions. On the day 1 onboarding meeting for interns one thing that really struck with me was the statement not to be afraid to look dumb. It communicated to me and my fellow interns that it is okay to ask questions but also that you are encouraged to try and fail at new things which is the essence of learning. These elements really promote a great learning culture at Unadat, you can see that the CEO/CTO care about your learning experiance.
What was your experience at Unadat?
What was one big project you worked on during the internship? Can you walk me through the process?
What advice would you give to future interns?
Think about what your goal at Unadat is and what you and Unadat can do to reach this goal.
