What did you work on?

What was the impact of your project?
What did you learn or improve on from this internship or from your teammates?
Having a limited skillset in Design, I strived to be a sponge and soak in as many lessons and skills I could from this experience, including collaborating with my team. Building my skills in UI/UX designing in various applications was thanks to my Design teammates, who exhibited their strengths as well. While we were in different sub teams, the CS sub team always demonstrated how communication is key no matter the circumstances: clearing up communication now, leads to a better product for tomorrow.
What skills have you gained?
Learned how to utilize and navigate Figma software.Brushed up on my use in Canva. Strengthened my collaboration and communication skills. Consolidated my time management and organization skills. Stepped out of my comfort zone to pursue leadership positions. Expressed my creative skills in a completely different outlet. Gained a "disagree and commit" skill.
What was the biggest roadblock you've overcome?
The biggest roadblock I`ve faced in this internship was collaborating with others virtually and not in-person since it`s difficult to get on the same page without *seeing* the other person`s expressions or thoughts. By the end of Week 2, I realized that I should push myself more out there so that other`s could be more comfortable with me and my ideas. So, I unmuted my microphone more often, speaking here and there even if no one replies, and became more talkative in general. I believe that if someone is real and genuine, it`s easier to warm up to them and see them more as a friend than a stranger.
How has company culture guided your work?
The friendly, connected, and collaborative company culture allowed me to flourish in an environment that would`ve otherwise been disjointed had it not been for Sean and Dan`s guidance and my PM`s organization. Our team kept updating each other on our progress and we always respected each other`s opinions or designs when it came to our tasks. Overall, participating in a team and company that emphasizes respect truly allowed me to be comfortable and encouraged me to do present my best work.
What was your experience at Unadat?
What was one big project you worked on during the internship? Can you walk me through the process?
What advice would you give to future interns?
Make the most of this experience, I know you can! Even if you`re shy or not as talkative, realize that everyone is on the same boat and that this more than likely to be their first internship and work experience (just like how it was for me). Talk a bit more, take leadership positions, and explore your interests, taking advantage of Unadat`s resources and lessons. You won`t regret taking this internship and you`ll be able to use this experience as a stepping stone for the rest of your career.
