From my teammates, I gained invaluable insights into a myriad of diverse cultures and traditions, enriching my worldview and enhancing my cross-cultural communication skills. Furthermore, they equipped me with practical knowledge, teaching me the intricacies of effectively formatting documents. Their expertise in crafting compelling PowerPoint presentations not only refined my presentation skills but also underscored the importance of visual storytelling in conveying complex ideas.

What skills have you gained?

During my Unadat internship, I honed my leadership capabilities, playing a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of work produced by my colleagues. Not only did I contribute to projects I was directly involved in, but I also provided valuable advice on myriad other initiatives. This experience broadened my perspective, teaching me to view projects holistically, anticipate potential challenges, and drive collaborative solutions.

What was the biggest roadblock you've overcome?

The biggest roadblock we overcame was our lack of communication with each other this was overcome through direct action through voice chat and threads comments by showing interest in them and trying to foster communication during the Roosevelt Island trip between groups that would typically not talk with each other. However, some people are still intent on doing work with minimal contact. The majority of the group actively talked in voice.

How has company culture guided your work?

The company culture at Unadat deeply ingrains the ethos of collaborative support, which shaped my approach towards my tasks. Even when not explicitly mandated, I found myself actively seeking opportunities to assist and uplift my colleagues, driven by the collective spirit emphasized in our work environment. This culture has not only bolstered team cohesion but also fostered personal growth through shared learning and teamwork.

What was one big project you worked on during the internship? Can you walk me through the process?

What advice would you give to future interns?

A more social group of interns is more productive than a quiet bunch trying to be the first to break the ice through basic stuff like food, music, or just funny memes.
